🎠Acting for Film
At Motion Film Academy, acting isn’t just about standing in front of a class and performing scenes.
You’ll learn how to act for the camera, then put those skills into practice by appearing in films made by the academy.
Learn. Rehearse. Perform. Film.

Acting students begin each session prepping to go straight on camera.
This might include character development, script work, improvisation, voice, movement, screen acting techniques and rehearsing scenes.
Then comes the exciting part.
Actors join our filmmaking students the session and the two groups work together to create an actual filmed scene.
You’ll be working with young filmmakers who are learning how to direct, operate cameras, record sound and produce films.
You’ll need to respond to direction, hit your marks, work with the camera and deliver a convincing performance.

Once filming is complete, the filmmaking students leave and the acting group continues with further acting work, rehearsal and development for next week.
You’re not just learning acting. You’re making films.

As you progress, you’ll have opportunities to play different characters, work on different types of scenes and build confidence in front of the camera.
You’ll learn how professional film productions work, while developing acting skills that can be used both on screen and on stage.
Learn the craft. Work with a crew.
Get in front of the camera.
Make films.
